Ready4Living Celebrates 10 Years
Ready4Living is celebrating 10 years in business, a very exciting achievement. Ten years ago I decided to change my career and life to become a personal trainer, and I haven’t looked back. It is an honour to be invited into people’s homes and lives and help them with their health and fitness goals.
So what have I learnt in the last 10 years as a Personal Trainer in the fitness industry?
To maintain a healthy body and mind, the inclusion of regular exercise of any type as well as a healthy diet is essential.
You need to keep moving, and to eat healthy – and I’ve learnt that that is not always as simple as it sounds.
I have had many clients over the years with varying ages and levels of fitness and health. People with weight issues and health problems, others recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, mobility and strength problems. I’ve also trained older adults wanting to maintain healthy lifestyles, pregnant women and new mums, and disabled clients who need help with staying fit and strong.
All of these clients have improved the quality of their life through exercise. This could be simple things like better sleep, not having pain in the joints anymore, being able to walk for longer without a rest. Often once they start exercising regularly, they will want to eat healthier.
I’ve seen first-hand the positive effect exercise has on mental health and I think this has been underestimated for too long.
Ten years as a trainer has also opened up my eyes to the challenges of others and what really is possible with encouragement and consistency.
I’ve learnt that every human body is very different and people respond to exercise and health issues in varying ways.
Health and fitness issues are very personal and compassion and empathy as a trainer are also critical to a client’s success.
I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be in a position to help clients and I am grateful for the lasting friendships made over the years. I’m proud to say some of my clients have been with me for the whole 10 years. I’ve also witnessed some incredible goals and achievements.
I thank all of my clients for their loyalty and support over the last 10 years. I look forward to many more years of fun, laughs and exercise!
